Gestures and tasks are the foundation of using Knocki. It's important to understand how they work together, and this article is here to help.
What is a Gesture?
A gesture is a pattern of taps that can be assigned to Knocki. Once a gesture is assigned to a Knocki, the Knocki will be able to automatically trigger actions (tasks) that you've associated with the gesture.
Each Knocki can store up to 10 gesture patterns including triple taps, two double taps, and more!
Creating a gesture is easy - just follow the steps outlined in the following article: Create a Gesture.
What is a Task?
A task is a specific action (such as turning on a light) that you can add to an existing gesture. Tasks can be grouped together into a task list so that up to five task can be triggered simultaneously through a single gesture event.
To create new tasks or add existing tasks, you must first create and/or select a gesture for the task to be added to. On the gesture screen, you'll see a button to add tasks to your gesture.
